What you'll be getting

An iPhone app, iOS 16.0 or later. It reads the text in a photo with Apple's Vision framework, sorts it into typed categories, and overwrites the pixels you choose to remove. Nothing is uploaded, because there is no server: see how it works for the pipeline and the privacy policy for what is and isn't collected.

What it costs

Free to download. The free version includes automatic detection, custom terms, batch import, the Share Extension, solid-fill redaction, and 10 redacted exports over the lifetime of the install. A one-time $6.99 in-app purchase unlocks the blur and pixelate styles and removes the export limit. There is no subscription.

Worth saying plainly: solid fill is the style you should use for anything sensitive, and it's the free one. The purchase buys the two cosmetic styles and the export count, not your safety. Here's why blur is the weaker choice.

Before it's out

If you're about to share a screenshot today, the advice on this site works without the app: crop hard, check the edges of the frame, and prefer a solid block over a blur. The step-by-step guide covers doing it with what's already on your phone, and alternatives lists the other tools honestly, including the ones that beat this app at things it doesn't do.
